My Medicinal Mushroon Story with Chaga

My medicinal mushroom experience started last spring, April 2018. I wasn’t sure exactly, how or why I picked up a packet of Chaga mushroom extract at Whole Foods. (Chaga is a mushroom that commonly grows on birch trees.) Maybe it was my intuition or maybe it was the little super man like character outlined on the packet. Being a wellness connoisseur I’ve heard some hype about mushrooms and have seen books in the many wellness store sections. I hated mushrooms as a kid so I wasn’t exactly drawn to the idea, but I also hated onions too and now have an affinity with them in my meals. Regardless, at that point I was extremely depleted and with much on my plate. Like any New Yorker I can’t afford to slack. Caffeine and sugar were not viable candidates as they always fail miserably with a crash and burn my mood. With the mind’s eye, I went ahead and purchased two packets for the testing.

Getting home I read the directions and there is several ways to prepare it. I initially did the most stoic approach just by mixing the packet of Chaga extract in a glass of water, fresh from my Kangan Ionizer. It was extremely bitter at first, so I chugged it down! The next part is hard to explain without sounding like a Bible thumper claiming she had found the miracle elixir mushroom blood of Christ! (Maybe that’s why Chaga is called the “King of Mushrooms.”) Almost instantly I started to feel more vitality! Not in a “high” like caffeine or pharmaceutical way, but a very clean feeling of energy. I could breathe better and had substantially more sustained energy throughout the afternoon. The next day I took another packet and felt like going on a run. It certainly helped immensely with my pollution-induced asthma too! I was able to go on a run along the exhaust fumed Hudson River Park for about two miles without having to stop, when previously my throat would swell causing frequent stops.

After such a transformation I did some research about Chaga that evening and was both astounded and elated with the mounds of benefits it had to offer. We humans share 40% of our DNA with mushrooms and the good ones can have extraordinary healing benefits that seem like a miracle or at least a subtle pharmaceutical grade medication. In several countries like Russia, Serbia and China, the Chaga mushroom is of the highest relevance. Especially in Russia, you won’t find quality coffee anywhere, but you will find quality Chaga. The Russian’s have been using it to fight and prevent Cancer millennia. There are many foods aimed for our blood, circulation and brain, but Chaga is the super food for our immune system and in modern times its know to help fight against radiation damage. We might need it more than ever to protect our DNA from the the “dangerous 5G wireless networks" that are supposed to go live this year.

I look noticeably better since last Spring with lots of comments saying I NEVER looked better, so it is doing something right! Since then, I’ve been making it a staple in my diet by making mushroom lattes, adding it to tea or smoothies and even sprinkling some on my Dog’s food to give her extra immune protection as well. Preferably like taking Chaga in extract form by the brand Four Sigmatic. Extracts maximize the health benefits and I need all the help I can get living in an Urban environment like NYC. In this case, more is MORE!
